David Pena, 33, was arrested in Florida on a murder charge stemming from the death of Felicia McGuyer on Saturday, Jan. 14, Boston Police report.

Pena was brought back to Boston where investigators learned he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on cocaine trafficking charges.

McGuyer, 32, was last seen in the area of Roxton Street in Dorchester on October 7, 2007, police said. She left behind her 11-year-old son at the time of her disappearance.

Her body was never found.

A witness told Boston police in 2017 that Pena was living with and dating McGuyer at the time of her disappearance. The couple had been arguing and Pena told the witness he would strangle McGuyer, they told investigators. Days later, Pena called and asked the witness to help him move out of the couple's apartment.

When the witness arrived, Pena had a heavy rolled-up carpet with McGuyer's body inside that he needed help getting into his car, the prosecutor said.

They drove to a wooded area somewhere in Boston. They carried her body into the woods, authorities said in the court filing, but the witness left before they saw what Pena did with McGuyer's remains.

Unfortunately, the witness is not from Boston and was unsure where they dumped the body, the prosecutor said.

Pena appeared in Dorchester District Court Tuesday morning where he was ordered held without bail, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office reports. He will return for a probable cause hearing on Feb. 17.
